While Some Radiate Awkwardness, I Radiate Radiation

Neila glared at him before storming off. Penny just sat there shocked not sure of what just happened. In the span of two minutes she had gone from happily eating with Jasper, no cares or worries, to a couch in a room with someone who very clearly hated her (that was very obvious now) and plans with Jasper's mother. She was nervous. What if his mother didn't like her either? What if Neila really wouldn't let her sleep on the couch? Penny wasn't a very good liar, and she was also worried that she would say something that contradicted what Jasper had said, or get something wrong. She also didn't really want to be away from him for any extended length of time. She looked at Jasper and he looked confused, annoyed, and slightly embarrassed.

"She doesn't like me." She gave him an apologetic smile. She knew Neila was his best friend, and she felt awful for ruining that.

Jasper sighed, "I don't know why she's being like this." Penny had an idea, but she wasn't going to tell him. It wasn't her place and she could be wrong, although how someone could not fall in love with him she had no idea. It was probably the easiest thing in the world to do.

"You lied to your mother... about me." She looked down at her hands. "I mean, I understand why and everything. I just... need to know who I'm supposed to be." She felt as if she was radiating awkward, and she hoped that wasn't the case, although he always seemed to be able to read her like a book.
