For awhile Penny was lost in a completely unexpected world where Earth had been destroyed and a space adventurer was explaining a witty book with "Don't Panic" inscribed in large, friendly letters on it's cover. She could feel his breath on her ear and she realized, for the first time, just how lovely his accent was. It complemented the style of the book perfectly, and she could think of no better way to have read it. The chapters were shortish, and about eight or so chapters in she realized she needed to take a trip to the bathroom.
She hadn't realized how tired she was. She wasn't used to staying up late, and although she normally slept for awkward amounts of time, these normally started around sundown. It was always better to be tucked away somewhere safe for the night by then. She didn't want to stop reading, though, so she splashed some water on her face, hoping that it would help wake her. She dried her face and went back to join him in the main room.
