Jasper felt light-headed with her so close to him, her face alight with laughter, her hands splayed on his chest. Her hair was in her face and he smoothed it out of the way, tucking it behind her ear. She just kept laughing and he felt the overwhelming urge to kiss her. He stroked her cheek and she looked him, her mouth still poised in a smile. He laid his lips gently on hers, a simple kiss, nothing too fancy or hard. At least, that was what he meant for it to be. But the moment he felt their lips touch, his hand fisted in her hair and he--
--felt a sharp pain in his side. Hissing in pain, he broke away and clutched his ribs, swearing loudly before he remembered Penny was there. What was it with things hitting him today? And in the same place, at that. Neila peered at him over a laptop screen, doing her best to look nonplussed. "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't expect there to be a bed in the middle of the walkway. I'm afraid I didn't see you there," she said softly, a tiny bite to her words. "I suggest you clean this mess up, it's getting late. Perhaps after all of this...exercise, you're feeling a bit hungry? Dinner is still warm; I made sure to leave enough food out for the both of you." She turned and walked back into the direction she came.
Jasper rubbed his side. What the hell was her problem? Although, he was slightly glad she stopped him before it got too out of control. But still...that kick had been much harder than necessary. He scooted from beneath Penny and stretched. Damn. That hurt. He looked down at Penny and smiled cautiously. "Well I don't know about you, but I'm hungry. What you you say we pack up for now?" He started gathering up the blankets.
