Homeward Bound

She wasn't hungry, and she didn't really want to go back inside. The sun was still high and bright, and flowers smelled so good that she felt it would be a shame to waste the day inside. Instead, she started walking off towards where the flowers started to end and the fields began. She dropped to the ground, laying down and sighing at the feel and smell of grass. She sat up and started picking flowers with longish stems, fashioning them into a chain in order to make a necklace. She hadn't done this since she was a child, and the familiarity of it made her smile a little. Jasper lay on the ground beside her, looking up at the sky. They sat in silence for a bit, just enjoying each others company. She finished the first necklace, leaning over and putting it around his neck, smiling at him. As she began working on the second, she looked at him and said softly, "Tell me about England."
