Washing The Pain Away

"Yeah... a shower sounds nice," she said, looking down at him. She fiddled with his hair slightly as he lay there. It was sticking up in random directions, which she found to be quite humorous. She sat there a few more minutes, allowing him to doze in her lap before she got up and walked over to the dressers. After pulling out what to wear for the day, she looked to him and said, "Maybe you can take a quick nap while I'm in there. I shouldn't be too long." She didn't take nearly as long getting ready as she did yesterday. Folding the makeshift pajamas neatly on the toilet seat cover, she couldn't help but wonder what had happened to what she had originally been wearing yesterday. She didn't think to much of it and got into the warm water of the shower, letting out a small sigh of pleasure. As she let the hot water wash over her, she began to sing. "Down came the sky and all you did was blink / I would cry, like I never do / in order to stay true / But everybody has their own opinions and such / They're so much a like, a like, a like. / One hundred of a million is worth penning dead down / So why am I writing to the moon?" It was almost other-worldly how much she enjoyed showering, and before too long it was over and she was drying herself off.
