Trying to Understand
He sat down, hard. "This is for you, love. I don't need...this," he waved to the decorations amiably, trying to make her understand. "This is exactly where you belong. I came and got you. By no means are you intruding. That," he said, pointing at the bed, "is where you are sleeping for as long as you will stay. I have sleeping arrangements that are just as comfortable." He picked up her hand and placed his face in it, looking pleadingly into her eyes. "Don't leave me. Not when I've just found you. Will you stay? I can find somewhere else to be if it's me that you are nervous about."
