Dishwashing Rebel
Penny had made it to the back office, but it was empty. "Well, great," she thought. "Now what am I going to do." She had only worked here a week, but the money that she had earned was what was going to feed her and pay for band aides for the next couple of months. She couldn't very well leave without it. She also couldn't justify staying when things were feeling so hinky. She wouldn't have survived this long on the streets had her sense of suspicion not formed quickly. Perhaps she would be back soon. Just taking out the trash or something. She supposed she could wait in the office for a few minutes... but if she didn't come back, she might just have to cut her losses. It was spring time. Surely things would be growing outside the city she could eat.
