Trying to Try Harder

Penny closed her eyes and sighed. She could tell she had angered him, and that this was going way downhill very quickly. She scolded herself for pushing him. Maybe she should reconsider the bed sharing thing. I mean, after all, it was a large bed. Heck, it might as well be two beds. She got up from the window sill and walked over to where he was sitting. Taking his hand cautiously she looked into his eyes and whispered, "I'm sorry. I'm trying. I really am. It's just hard for me, sometimes..." She sighed again, and looked down, slightly embarrassed. "Maybe we could both take the bed? I wouldn't be able to sleep at all with you on the floor."
